Early morning

Great start to a great day. Got up early,  layed in bed petting the dogs,  rode the bicycle to school clinic with the dogs, X rays (everything normal), Daisy running around trying to get Ärtan to play, cycled home. Everyone exhausted! Now it is time to cycle back to school.

Weekly update

It has been amazing weather this week. I have been studying and spending time with the dogs. On Friday I invited some friends over for wine and fondue, it was such a nice break!

Daisy update

Written a Pharmacology seminar (my part at least), made notes for "From symptoms to diagnosis"-exam, gone to class and to the vet, sat outside in the sun reading a magazine. That is what I have done these last days and it feels amazing, I don't want to get back to the stressful reality of vet school!

Daisy update: She had been acting a bit strange lately. I had a cardiologist (our teacher whom I asked for help), a dermatologist and one of our other teachers (whom is a great veterinarian). They were all discussing her symptoms (Itching, sitting down rapidly, twitching ears, cleaning herself more than usual, distinct smell, stomping her leg while itching and cleaning herself, weight loss). Finally they felt her anal glands, they did not feel impacted but decided to do a rectal exam anyway. They were apparently very deep situated and impacted so he emptied them (even if she has never needed that before), and now we are hoping for the symptoms to go away. The only strange thing is that she has lost 1 kg in a month, but it might just be because of the weather and exercise. I am now giving her zinc supplements for her coat (she has scaly skin/dandruff) and double the amount of food. Oh and tomorrow I'll be doing a fecal examination just to be sure there are no parasites involved.

It is great that I have contact with so many vets now (A cardiologist, dermatologist, reproduction specialist, small animal specialist) but at the same time I feel ashamed because that means my dog is sick. Well she isn't really, many times I have just taken her so they can use her in class because she is the model dog to train on. It is a plus for my future career though haha. 

Picnic in the Forest

On Tuesday a gang of us decided to go to a picnic park in the big Kabaty forest. We grilled hotdogs, drank some beer, laughed etc.

Today started out with a long walk, then a few hours later Ida, Jess and I drove out to the stable and walked in the forest. I then had a ride with 3 other friends in the stable out in the terrain, it was crazy. The horse I was riding really wanted to get me off or gallop, so we fought the whole ride. I am sooo tired now.

Intruder

I haven't been able to sleep all night. At 2.30 I woke up from someone hitting on my door, I didn't wake up until the last bangs because I started dreaming the noise but then I realized it was real. When I finally get to the door and look out the peephole there was no one there but the light was on (it is activated by a movement sensor). First I thought it was children begging for candy, because it is Easter, but then I looked at the watch and saw that it was 2.36 am. I was very freaked out and the light was still on after 30 min which it never is if there is no movement. So I grabbed my pepper spray and made the dogs sleep in the bed. Nothing has happened since, but I am still a bit scared about that and am now locking the door every time I go out. Usually I am bad at locking my door when just going for a stroll around the house, but apparently someone knows where I live so...

During the easter break I have been taking long walks with the dogs and been to the stable 3 days in a row. It has been fun, but tiring. On Wednesday it was our halfway-day, so we went out celebrating. We also went out yesterday evening, so i am done with partying for another 6 months at least haha.

Yesterday it was so warm outside, so I could even wear a skirt.

I am sorry for the being bad at updating. It has been a hectic month. I took a fast trip home and got Ärtan, so now I have 2 dogs. We have had many exams and very little time.
