Practice

Yesterday morning we were at the aviaries! It was fun, we got to pet, hold and catch bees.

Today in diagnostic labs we got to do an endoscopic examination of a horse, it was so fun to actually do something practical on our own for once.
- Clinical exam
- Prep of injection site
- Injection into jugular vein
- Endoscopic examination

Nightmare

I woke up 5 min ago from a horrible nightmare, I am still flustered and with a fast, pounding heartbeat.

I was driving on a big country road with Henriette during the night. We were singing along to some song, all of the sudden a beautiful girl (which I just saw on my friends instagram before I went to bed) jogs across the road and past the car. A few seconds later the car dies abruptly. It is pitch dark and and we can't start the car, I lock the doors and after a few tries it starts.
In front of the hood of the car you see the girls face + another, but in zombie-shape. We scream and panic.  Start backing up,  they start running crazy quick and scary next to and onto the car.  I wake up because I think I was going to withee back the car off the road och crash it.

Weekly update

On Sunday I went riding with Hela and Jess. It went great! I think it was my best ride so far. On Monday morning my whole back and thighs were aching. 

Today I had to hassle the vet about Daisy's surgery which was scheduled for today but he had forgotten, but with the help of 2 5th year students we managed to schedule it for their rotations tomorrow. It is a precausiative operation, because she has had cancer twice before and their is activity in the mammary gland which is left, we decided in January that it would be safest to remove it too. 

Next week I will drive back (+ferry) to Sweden with the car and dogs together with Elisabeth (my classmate). The dogs + car will stay in Sweden during my exam session.

This week: Parashitology test 4 on Thursday.

Next week: Histopathology test 2 on Tuesday.

Halfway video

This video was put together quickly by a few classmates on our halfway-vets day! I laughed so hard when watching it and fixing myself for the dinner. It is unbelievable how fast time has gone. I am so grateful for my wonderful friends.

Schnauzer love

My 2 sweethearts have finally become besties. They just started playing with each other too, the 2 dogs that never play, "Daisy uploaded" a video of their first playful interaction on Daisy's blog. 

I have so much anxiety over leaving Daisy in Sweden for over a month while I have exams, both for mine and her sake. I know she will have a great time at my parents, she was the family dog from the beginning, but we are in such a good place and I don't think I have been away from her this long in 2 ½ years. I have already told all of my friends here that they will have to keep track of me so I don't get all depressed, and actually get out for walks even if I have no dog. I have even told them that I will help with theirs.

Halfway!!

Last week we celebrated that we are officially halfway through vet school at a nice restaurant with 3 course meals. We were too busy too having a blast and forgot to take pictures when everyone looked so amazing. You'll just have to take my word for it haha. 

Wilanow

I was getting tired of the same old walks so the dogs and I headed over to Wilanow. I found a street with a strange mix of neighbors. Some poor, some modern, some American, some old, some ambassadors. 

Rug problems

I bought this amazing rug/carpet. Had it for 1 week, nice and clean (it is white). Then I doggy-sat Marley (a very hairy dog who collects dirt), after 2 weeks the rug got dirty but I was okay with that.
1 week after that the pack has a flea-scare and I have to do a sanitation the apartment, incl. leaving the rug at the dry cleaners. It contained so much dirt (it is very thick) that they had to run it twice, so I wait ~9 days. I get it back home, 3 days later Daisy vomits on it (after being intoxicated by manure). I scrub and scrub but it smells like cow sh*t and my apartment too. I leave it for the dry cleaners, wait 6 days, got it back on Saturday.
Aaaand today my friends dog peed on it. 

So now I have rinsed it with a waterfall of water and the only thing I had left at home was gall-soap, so we will see tomorrow if I have to leave it at the dry cleaners for the 3rd time.

It has almost been as long at the dry cleaners as in my home..

Last few days I have just been hanging out with friends. We went to the palace in wilanow and relaxed in the grass, went to dinner together, had a sleepover, etc.
