Today I went to a Swedish Christmas brunch at a friends house. It was really nice and very fun. Forgot to take pictures though.

I just skyped with my friend Emelie and towards the end with her family for 1h. It was nice to talk to her, I only had time to meet her once during the summer, and we haven't skyped in a really long time. I will meet her after Christmas hopefully!

Daisy's blog

I know Daisy never updated her last blog, she thought it was too much effort to write stuff. So now she has a new one with mostley pictures!

 I AM A DINOSAUR!

I really want to go riding tomorrow. They are having a Christmas lunch and secret-Santa celebration, but I can't go because I can't leave D that long and I already have plans to go to a Swedish Christmas brunch!

So I'll have to go during the week instead.

We only have a Virology exam and Pathophysiology seminar left before Christmas! It has been so crazy calm this semester, we have had exams but we have actually had time to study for them... It is so strange. I actually feel bored.

Saint Lucia

Today was a tough day for D. In the morning she really didn't want me to leave for school, then I came back 2h later and got her.
1. we went to the vet
2. went to a class and then to a lab
3. then for a walk
4. home
5. walked over to the pugs
6. celebrated Lucia
7. had to walk home in the rain.
After 5 days of restlessness and sleeping this was really hard. So now she is curled up in a blanket, sleeping.

Post-op. update!

It is now day 4 of recovery and Daisy is acting like her normal self. It is strange, because after previous operations she has been in pain, not been able to walk, had bad reactions, etc. So it just means Dr. P. Jurka is a GREAT surgeon and veterinarian. We are heading back tomorrow for a check-up before the weekend, and to get the injections.
First short walk since the operation.
When I picked her up, she just wanted to go home!

When we came home she slept the rest of the day

Operation update

Today I left Daisy for her operation, I didn't watch the operation because I felt sick and emotional. It turns out that she will have to go through 2 operations, one this morning and another in a month. I went to pick her up but was told that they wanted to keep her under supervision until tomorrow morning. So I am picking her up at 8 o'clock.

Riding

On Thursday and Sunday Hela and I went riding. Hela rode Taj and I rode Misty both times. It was great weather and a good workout!

On Saturday we went to the oldtown to see the Christmas parade, drink hot cocoa with cointeau and mulled wine.

Finland's independence day

On Friday most people went to the "12 pubs of Christmas"-crawl, I went over to Linnea and Alex to celebrate Finland's independence day. There was a storm outside so D and I stayed the night. I was stupid enough to sleep next to a sick person and drink from he glass so now I am sick too.

Daisy and I never clicked, she wouldn't even go on walks with me. Then I moved to Poland and Ninja needed a friend, Daisy. After the last summer Daisy has been the light of my life. I know that the day will come, but at the moment I couldn't see myself without her.

Yes our class is weird. After this conversation another even more disturbing started haha.

Daisy pre-op update

Today Joel (a fifth year student) took Daisy for their lab, they did an ultrasound and heart examination. Everything was fine, as confirmed from the cardiologist a month ago. Then we went for x-rays pre-operation, her lungs looked great. A dermatologist walked by and fell in love with her, I showed her the small lump/uneven tissue behind her paw and even though it probably is benign she thought it should be removed. So I was to remind the surgeon on Monday to do that too.

Here are some small pics of the x-rays from today.

Video update

Vansmas!

Today we celebrated Vansmas, Vans turned 2 yesterday but we didn't have time to celebrate it then.
We watched Love actually, ate gingersnaps and drank glögg.

Pic update

I hit myself with a pop-up cage so now I have 2 small bruises on the nose ridge.
On Saturday we went for a fast/race ride in the forest, it was really fun!
On Sunday I went to a cat show with Henri and James.
Bought new fluorescent collars.

There is not much in school right now so I am going to make notes for the upcoming tests and finish my presentation in pathophysiology.
It is only 21 days until I leave for Sweden and leave my baby here in Poland (D).

It is starting to get really cold here now, the pics are from 2 weeks ago so not accurate.

Daisy update

D does not have remnants of her ovaries, but the surgery for removing the mammary tumors is moved up to next week. Today the 5th years borrowed her for their class and will on Wednesday again (she is not to happy about that haha).

Dinner

2 weeks ago I was really good at cooking proper dinner! I should start making good dinners now again when the pharma is over.
Homemade potatochips
I had Emmelie, Maria and Jessica over for dinner, it was so nice!
I love left-over breakfasts!
