Stable

Yesterday we had a wine night at Jennie's and today I went riding. I rode Misty, great horse! Almost fell over once with her because she can't really balance herself, so had to work on a circle for a while but then everything went great.

5th semester schedule

In 'Pathomorphology' next Monday my group will start with necropsy. Looking forward to it! But I have to remember to buy all of the equipment (Thick gloves, plastic apron, another lab coat(surgeon model), hairnet/surgeon-cap, shoe-covers). There will apparently be a lot of blood, feces and other fluids.

Cozy dates!

On Tuesday last week I had Angelica and Sean over, we ate dinner and talked a lot. It was very nice to catch up after a year of almost never talking because we miss each other because of school all of the time.

Then on Wednesday last week I went to Emmelie, Mimmi and Angelica for a "fika" it was so nice to meet all of the Swedes and first years.

On Tuesday I had Emmelie and Jessica over for a wine evening, it was so cozy to sit and talk for hours!

Yesterday Hela took Ida and me to the cinema, we saw such a strange movie. I got so lost after a while but somethings looked so ridiculous so I sat laughing loudly while everyone else were dead-serious, I was so embarrassed but I couldn't stop. Good movie though! The congress.

Hard days

I am so exhausted all of the time. I am sleeping and eating properly but I think it is because I have been going 110% since we started. I am sick again too so that doesn't help.
My days:
*School
*Out for a long walk with Daisy
*Dinner
*Clean apartment/wash/dish
*Study
*Walk with D
*Sleep

They aren't too hard days, I just think it is because I am sick and the stress of thinking Daisy is going to die (heart), thinking about Daisy's 3rd cancer operation, having to study at the same time and keep exercising while becoming quite sick.

Daisy loves to snuggle up in my lap after waking up in the morning or when I come home. It is so cozy!!

General examination

In vet diagnostic lab I snuck in with group 1 which had small animal clinic lab yesterday so Daisy could get an examination of our teacher whom is a cardiologist(heart specialist) in both America and Poland.

It turns out Daisy's heart in perfect health, yay. Still have to do a third neoplasm (cancer) operation though because I have found a minimal tumor again. Probably an adenocarcinoma too.
In this class we learn how to examine the animals. So last time I didn't have class with them because my small animal clinic labs are in November, but last time they got to practice general examination, counting pulse, tying a mussel and watch how to interact with  clients.

This Wednesday when I joined we went through respiratory and cardiac general examination:
*Look at mucous membranes
*Feel mandibular lymph nodes and mandibulary salivary gland
*Feel trachea
*Feel subscapular lymph nodes + another I forgot
*Feel maximum heartbeat
*Feel after enlarged liver/spleen
*Feel inguinal+popliteal lymphnodes

*Listen to heart base and apex
*Listen to trachea
*Listen to lungs

Then she did the ultrasound/ECG on Daisy and the next clients dog.

Apartment

Ida and Jessica with Fröya, Fox and Daisy our for a walk.
Update in how the apartment looks. Still haven't painted the green white, I am far too lazy.

Last weekend

Friday: few beers with a few people while playing pool and singing karaoke. A real nice night!

Saturday: Ursynow dog-crew walk, riding, calm celebration of Katarinah's birthday, then movie with popcorn and snuggling with Daisy.

Sunday: Up early to go to the riding, Jessica joined. Fun as always, I think the teacher is giving me the difficult horse to get a real workout and learn properly.
I can only cope the first 20min, then my legs give in and I forget stuff so the horse had me pretty whipped for a while before a girl helped me with some things!

Riding

Day started out with the normal weekend-walk so all the doggy friends had a great run. Then it was time for some riding with Hela again. She wanted to ride Anila which I have ridden the last 2 times, so I took a horse named Taj, he was much easier but really good at listening to the helps without fighting back.

Going back tomorrow for a ride, Jessica (who has Fox) will be joining and maybe Hela's little sister too. Today Hela's parents joined. Her mother went picking mushrooms and her dad watched us. I'll put up some pics another day.

Today is Katarinah's BIRTHDAY!! Happy birthdaaaay!

Happy update! (a bit long though)

It has been a good day today!

I am mad over Daisy going through 2 surgeries without them even listening to the heart. I only did the x-ray because I was worried, they never recommended it. All the stress of flying I have put her through and the superhot summer days I have taken her for long walks.

Anyway, we had a discussion with a teacher about our summer-practice at farms and he is usually a real mean one. Today he shown like the sun and it made all of us so happy!

Then just now when I walked over the "yard" a man walked next to me, we started talking and it turned out he was the head of pharmacology at the medicine studies in wawa. We didn't have time to exchange info, but he said I am welcome to ask him if I ever need help, and now I know his brother lives 2 floors above me haha.

PS. Superparanoid now to take her for long walks when I notice how much she pants, even if she is energetic. I do not want to put more pressure on her heart by intense training, which will lead to heart failure and her trachea getting "squeezed".

More sad news

I went for an X-ray on Daisy today to check so no tumors are back or have spread.

Cancer is back and she has an enlarged heart, so her trachea lies too high up. I am going to a cardiologist next Friday, hopefully my vet diagnostics teacher (whom is a cardiologist) could check her out too.

The cardiologist check is to see if her heart is coping, maybe put her on meds, and see if it is possible to do the cancer operation a 3rd time (I am getting SO FREAKING sick of this).

Anyhow she won't live as long as I hoped she would. It sucks.

I have decided that when the day comes when her quality of life isn't good enough I will give her the shot myself. I will take her to a place she loves, with the vet of course, and give it to her so she can die happily.

My love.

RIP Bibi

On my way back from the Fika I met a friend who was crying and got bad news. Her close friend's dog Bibi (Daisy's friend) had got hit by a car. It was a sad ending to a great day.

Great weather

Directly after playing with Kapoo the pup I walked home, got my wallet. Then Henri, Ida, Jennie and I walked to Le petite and had a real catch-up talk.

Then it was time to pee Daisy again, shower, get dressed and walk to Wilanów for a "Fika" with the Swedish people. It was so nice!

Yesterday was real summer weather! Today it is real fall weather; rain, chilly and colorful!

Dogs in class

Yesterday forenoon was a busy one. I met up with Ida and Henri, we walked to school with the dogs, where we sat at a vet diagnostics lecture for 2h. This week my group didn't have any lab, so Ida and I went for a walk with Jessica directly after school. Then I had to walk over to Alex to pee her pup and play a bit, by that time I was so beat!

In class: (Daisy, Fröya, Marley + 3pugs and Loui)
The border terrier pup:
I was told he doesn't like the outside....

I hate this school sometimes

Yesterday was not a happy day.

I am doing one of the 2nd year subjects in 3rd year, as is one of my friends, so we went to speak to the teacher about this but he was not in. So we went to the Dean's office to speak to the assistants and everything went bad after that.

We tried to explain that we had passed the lab assignments with good grades and gone to all of the lectures, but we did not pass test 1 so we couldn't do test 2 or the exam. That is why we failed the subject and we would like to only write the tests and exams next semester because the classes will clash with our schedule. The assistant "L" probably did not understand even if we were clear so she got mad and said "You will have to repeat the class, start second year over again or get taken off the list as a student" and she kept on talking about how we would be thrown out, so we got very sad and panicked. After talking to a few friends that have good contact with the Dean and teachers we calmed down. So we have done everything we can and they have no reason to kick us out, there are worse students than us at this school.

They do not really have a system at the school, with anything, so it is so hard sometimes!!

Dinner and wine

Today Henri and I bought our first scrubs, happy happy!

Then I had to buy some nice stuff for mom and hurry home. At home I took D for a short walk and met up with Angelica and Sean. They went in my year during 1st but studied 1&2 year at the same time so they are now a year above me.

We had dinner and drank some wine, it was so cozy so we are going to try to do it as a weekly thing!

Drunken update

On Friday was the freshers pub crawl. Oh the drama. A glass door broke, wrong people got blamed, then somehow I got blamed because I was in the same group as the person who did it, but I think everything might be cleared out now.

It was fun anyway, I was supposed to sneak away when everyone had gotten too drunk, but I got too drunk.

Saturday... I didn't eat or drink for many hours (about 14-16h) so when I actually drank quite a lot of water my body couldn't handle it. So yeah. Finally I went down to the store and bought all of their minipackets with fruit-pure and managed to get some juice and one of those down. Then Sunday was my whole rehabilitation day, I tried to eat small amounts all out during the day and take a long walk with D.

Now I am fine again but from this I managed to get a cold sore. Either it is from my body being under stress and badly dehydrated or it i because I used a chapstick I might have used on a sore before.

Bla bla bla

It was starting to get really cold, but then 2 days ago it became okay weather again. So now we have real fall weather where it is warm enough to have a scarf and leather jacket on, instead of the winter coat!
The building I live in.
It is a huge disgusting orange spider, it doesn't look that bad here but it was gross in real life.

Warning, unnecessary info. Pic of cold sore.

I just got rid of a cold sore about 2-3 weeks ago and now it is back. But I think I used a chapstick I had when I had a coldsore a while back... or it might be because i was dehydrated and emaciated on Saturday.
