Tatra mountains

For the weekend I wanted to go hiking in the Tatra mountains, but Poland is very strict with hiking, accomodation and camping. Not like in Sweden where you have the right to walk and camp anywhere you please, as long as you leave the area the same way it as as when you came there. In the Tatra National park on the polish side you have to pay to get in (it is not a big amount, but nature should be free), you are not allowed to camp (There are specific huts where you have to pay to stay the night) and you are not allowed to bring your dogs into the park (even if you have them on leach and muzzled).

On the Slovakian side you are at least allowed to have the dogs in the park if they are on leach and muzzled. You are still not allowed to camp, and you cannot bring your dogs into the mountain huts.
So now I am trying to find accomodation in Zdiar near the mountain, so we could hike for a day and then back to the hostel/hotel.

In the summer I will hike in Sweden with the dogs for a week or so instead. Maybe head up north to the mountains, if it is not too expensive!

Riding

This weekend I went riding, even though Hela has moved to Slovakia for a year. I rode "Misty" both days, the first day we went jumping. It was fun and actually went okay for not riding for 4-5 months. The horse I was riding though has become very lazy and learnt some mischeif, because only children and beginners have been riding her. So she didn't really have the energy do to intermediate-hard work.

Practicals

So far school seems good. We have either long boring, but almost interesting classes, or fun practical ones. During practicals we have already fixed hoofs, amputated bovine digits (dead legs), done gynecological examinations, castrated piglets, etc. Ida and I even skipped classes one day to join in on a clinical trial with goats. The urinary sphincter pressure was measured, bone and muscle biopsies were done. We assisted in the nursing parts, but if we continue attending these we might be able to help one day.
Slept over at Linnea's new place last week.
It has been amazing weather ever since we came back!

First update!

Okay, lets see what has happened since I came back to Poland.
  1. Maria and I drove and took the ferry, had a great trip.
  2. I passed my nutrition final retake(!!!)
  3. Started school again
  4. Tried to abstain candy, found out they had "lösgodis" at real, bought a whole bag.. It is now empty.

I am sorry for being horrible at updating! I am going to sit down with the blog tonight, after I do all of my chores first!
