Daisy's daily training

Seven year old Daisy is now learning paw, rabbit and crawl... It is going well I think! I have not until now put in an effort to teach her anything because she is impossible, but now for some reason she has loads of extra energy and I have to do lots of mental training to get her to calm down. So here is a short clip of the daily training.

Daily update

Heading to a bar with my friends and our new friends from Poland. It will be nice to socialize with new people.

Otherwise I am just studying and devoting my time to Daisy.

"Fun facts"

Fun facts
*When I am stressed I get an urge to bake.
(So my fridge is always full during exam sessions)
*When I play vinyls I slow dance with my dog.
(She has started to get used to it)
*I hate to wear makeup because it is annoying to remove and I cannot rub my eyes.
*I am a dog-ochonriac.
(Always looking for problems with D, and I always seem to find them sadly enough)

Daisy update

2 December: Mastectomy
Right back paw: An small epidermal cyst was hurt, but it has almost healed
Left front paw: Daisy has ocd, so when she is stressed/understimulated/bored she chews on it.

Bloodwork: Normal, except for the Estradiol. Which means she might have remnants of ovaries from her spaying.

We are doing 2 test to confirm it: Measure the LH-values and inject gonadotropins and check the values 2 days later. This is to see if estrus was induced.

I was told, and have had my suspisions, that she looks like a typical Cushing's dog. Not that she has it but that she will probably get develop it later on. It is most commonly diagnosed around 10 years (but now she lives with me, a vet student, so if it is true I will find it out!).

I do not know what is with her. She is going bananas when we are home; whines, playes, eats the bones made out of skin, sits and annoys you by looking at you for 5 min straight. I am taking the normal long walkes, today I even went out running and she actually galopped most of the time. Either she is really understimulated (which I doubt), she is trying to tell me she is sick or I DON'T KNOW. I liked having a sleepy dog.

Today's updtae

Today is Poland's independence day so it is very calm outside. I will be studying the whole day for an exam in Pathophysiology on Thurday.

I can't walk after the riding my muscle ache is crazy!

My grandma sent me a letter with an article about Warsaw! The red dress I bought from Tradera when I was in Sweden, first time I used it!

The day after the attack I took a walk with the gang and we met a really nice wolfhound which made it a perfect rehabilitating-walk!

Weekend update

On Saturday I went riding with Hela again! I got Anila and I do not think I have ever ridden that well, the jumping didn't go too good but the dressage part did!

After riding I went to the polish halfway-ball. It was so fun to meet some new people, we danced like crazy the whole night!

I will post pictures when I get them.

Dog attack

Friday night.

I was out on the regular evening-walk, when we meet Daisy's arch-enemy. I wait a bit away so they can pass, Daisy gives away a bark (probably "I will kill you if you come close"), I sit her down and all of the sudden I hear "UWAGA" and the huge leonberger mix is on top of her. I am trying to get it off of her, after a lot of fighting I get it off a bit so I can run in between and pickup Daisy who was crazy and screaming. I turn around and see the owner laying on his dog. I do not blame him at all for what happened, it has happened me back home in Sweden too (but I was on the other end of it then).

I didn't think I got bit but when I was in the shower I noticed big bruises in the shape of bite marks on my legs.

I wasn't too scared of her being hurt, I was worried about the mental part. I thought her aggression would come back, but actually she is almost like normal. She is a bit worried and more dependent on me now, but not that anyone except for me would notice. So I am proud because that means that all my work has payed off and she trusts me even after an event like this.

School update

We start our exams now in November and then we only have 1 exam and 2 seminars in December, then exams again in January. This year I might stay 2 weeks in Sweden so I can help out at My Dog with selling for Hundgott 3-5(6) January.

In school we have started to do some fun things!
Pathomorphology: Necropsy and histopathology
Paras(h)itology: Examine poop and leaning about parasites
Vet diagnostics: We learn how to examine animals and how to interpret blood samples

The rest of our classes are very interesting but hard and very much information.

Daisy likes sleeping in the pouch of my cow-onesie

Daisy update

Today I brought Daisy with me to school for an operation, but it turned out to be an examination, blood tests and x-rays. So I am calling the doctor tomorrow when I have the blood work.

I bought her a bone today, she insisted on carrying it all the way home. She has become such a cuddly dog all of the sudden. She now loves being wrapped in blankets and sleep in my lap.

Halloween

For Halloween I was a cow!

Pic post

Made taco quesadillas, it was supergood. I recommend it as a great and healthy fast food.
Daisy and Nala

Britta in Poland!

I had a visit from my friend Britta, it was real nice having her here!
She brought me a drawing of Daisy and cheese!
